Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong launched Go Green SG 2026 at Naval Base Primary School (NBPS) today.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong launched Go Green SG 2026 at Naval Base Primary School (NBPS) today. The launch event was also attended by Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu, Senior Parliamentary Secretary Goh Hanyan and Go Green SG partners from the People, Private and Public (3P) sectors. This year’s Go Green SG takes place from 11 May to 28 June.
Go Green SG 2026 Launch at Naval Base Primary School
NBPS was selected as the Go Green SG 2026 host partner for the launch event in recognition of its strong commitment to sustainability, which is reflected through its curriculum, sustainability features within the school premises, and community partnerships.
The school launched its refreshed Wellness Garden today, which is equipped with a solar-powered hydroponics system. This allows students to appreciate solar energy as an option for Singapore’s energy security, and how food can be grown locally to strengthen our food resilience. The Wellness Garden is managed by students, with harvested produce distributed through community fridges to nearby residents, including vulnerable groups, in partnership with community volunteers from Nee Soon South Zone H Residents’ Network.
NBPS has a strong culture of student-driven sustainability outreach. Over the past few years, students have taken the lead in running activity booths as part of Earth and Green Week, to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and encourage green behaviours among their peers. In 2025, NBPS further strengthened these efforts through the launch of Joy of Learning (JoL) activities by partnering with Cloop and ALBA E-Waste to engage students on textile upcycling and e-waste recycling practices.
Most recently, NBPS has partnered Lions Befrienders in co-developing interactive activities on sustainability and healthy living to engage seniors in nearby communities and foster intergenerational connections. Some of these activities include Mozzie Chair Yoga and an Eco-Reaction Challenge to engage seniors on dengue prevention and energy conservation.
The National Environment Agency (NEA), PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) were also present at the launch with activity booths to engage students and Go Green SG partners on climate change and sustainability in the Year of Climate Adaptation. These included the risks and impacts of climate change on our everyday lives, and how we can adapt to rising heat and contribute to our water and food resilience.
Public Education on Climate Adaptation
In support of the Year of Climate Adaptation, this year’s Go Green SG also features a range of resources designed to educate the public on the impacts of climate change, the need for climate adaptation and how we can each play our part.
Go Green SG 2026 Jingle & Music Video
A refreshed Go Green SG jingle and music video, produced in collaboration with local artistes Annette Lee and Glenn Yong, was released today. The superhero-themed music video highlights Singapore’s climate adaptation measures and shows how individuals and businesses can stay prepared in the face of climate change. The music video is available for viewing on MSE's YouTube and social media channels: https://youtu.be/ChRLOSsd0Zo
Climate Adaptation Activity Book for Preschoolers
To encourage our preschoolers to be Go Green SG Champions, MSE has produced and distributed a Climate Adaptation Activity Book to some 2,000 preschools and 100,000 preschoolers. Preschoolers will learn about energy conservation, heat resilience, coastal protection and food security. Teachers and parents are encouraged to use the Activity Book to spark sustainability conversations at home and in the classroom. The activity book is available for download at www.gogreen.gov.sg/docs/default-source/resources/go-green-sg-2026-climate-adaptation-activity-book.pdf
Climate Adaptation Animation Video for Primary & Secondary Students
MSE will release an animation video this year to explain climate adaptation to our youths. The video will highlight Singapore’s climate adaptation strategies and reinforce the need for collective action. The video will be disseminated to primary and secondary schools via the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) Singapore Student Learning Space and made available for viewing on MSE’s social media channels.
