Singapore, 9 May 2025 – Go Green SG returns this year from 16 May to 29 June in support of SG60. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will be the Guest-of-Honour at the launch of Go Green SG 2025 at Changkat Primary School on 16 May. Led by the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) alongside its partners from the 3P sectors, Go Green SG is a whole-of-nation movement to rally citizens, organisations and the community to take collective action towards a more environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient Singapore.
More Activities & Cross-Collaborations for SG60 Edition of Go Green SG
2 Last year’s Go Green SG movement saw more than 50,000 participants take part in more than 400 activities, organised by some 200 partners from across the 3P sectors. As we commemorate SG60, Go Green SG this year will feature new and diverse activities by some 400 3P partners, organising more than 900 activities to demonstrate our collective commitment towards environmental sustainability and resilience.
3 For example, the public can join a guided ferry tour of our southern islands by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), which will showcase Singapore’s maritime sustainability and decarbonisation efforts. The tour will make a stop at the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park where participants can learn about local biodiversity and marine conservation initiatives.
4 The public can sign up for a tour to our first inland floating solar farm at Tengeh Reservoir, organised by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore. Participants can understand how Singapore’s resilience in overcoming land constraints led to innovative solutions supporting our solar energy deployments. Participants of guided tours at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore can learn how the Group integrates innovation and sustainability at its transformative smart urban mobility hub to support Singapore’s journey towards a greener, more connected future.
5 Building strong community partnerships have been a key priority in our nation’s journey. More Go Green SG activities this year provide participants with opportunities to connect with one another and contribute through community action. These include upcycling workshops by Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, where participants across generations can come together to upcycle old banners and fabrics into lanyards and coasters, fostering community bonds through creative reuse of materials. A variety of hands-on activities will also be featured at Ismaili CIVIC’s SG60 Riverside Vibes event, which encourages intergenerational bonding and reflection on Singapore’s environmental journey through eco-workshops, urban gardening and live storytelling. At Metropolitan YMCA’s Urban Farm, in partnership with SG Enable, persons with disabilities will conduct farm tours for participants to explore sustainable urban food production, including innovative urban farming techniques.
6 Various schools, from preschools to tertiary institutions, are conducting activities this year and featuring various cross-collaborations. For example, E-Bridge Pre-School Telok Blangah and Anglo-Chinese School Junior are conducting initiatives such as gardening and upcycling workshops, in collaboration with our Active Ageing Centres. Yishun Secondary School is also partnering Nee Soon South Zone H Resident Network, supported by other partners and schools, to engage students and residents through interactive booths and hands-on activities on biodiversity and food waste reduction.
7 Other cross-collaborations between 3P sector partners include mushroom cultivation workshops by the Mushroom World Academy in partnership with SG Eco Fund recipient Vidacity, to encourage waste management and carbon footprint reduction through the cultivation of mushrooms using recyclable materials. FairPrice Group and WWF Singapore are conducting interactive guided tours at FairPrice’s flagship sustainable store at City Square Mall, to garner support for sustainable food choices, eco-labels, sustainable packaging and waste reduction.

Celebrating 60 Years of Environmental Sustainability & Resilience with Preschoolers
9 To inspire environmental stewardship in our young preschoolers, MSE has produced and distributed an SG60 Go Green SG activity book to over 1,000 preschools. Through hands-on activities, preschoolers learn about our key environmental milestones – the Singapore River clean-up, our water resilience and strengthening food safety. They are also encouraged to participate in sustainability discussions with their teachers and parents. The activity book is available for download at www.gogreen.gov.sg/resources/kids.
Go Green SG Jingle & Music Video to Commemorate SG60
10 A refreshed Go Green SG jingle and music video will be released on 16 May to commemorate SG60 and the launch of Go Green SG 2025. Produced in collaboration with local artists Annette Lee and Glenn Yong, the jingle celebrates Singapore’s environmental achievements over the past 60 years and calls for continued partnerships with our communities. From the resettlement of street hawkers to strengthening our local food production, we reflect on Singapore’s progress in building a cleaner, greener and more climate-resilient nation for our current and future generations. The music video will be available for viewing on MSE’s YouTube and social media channels.
