Minister Grace Fu to lead business mission to South America to strengthen carbon credits and agri-food trade collaboration

Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu will lead a carbon credits and agri-food business delegation to South America, covering Peru, Paraguay and Chile, from 13 to 22 April 2026.

Singapore and South America share mutual interests in areas of climate change, sustainability, and agri-food trade, among others. Minister Fu will meet her counterparts to discuss opportunities to deepen economic linkages with Singapore, facilitate greater trade and investment flows, and open new opportunities for businesses to tap complementary strengths across Southeast Asia and South America.
The carbon credits business mission aims to advance collaboration opportunities and cultivate a pipeline of projects under the Implementation Agreements on Article 6 carbon credits cooperation with the respective countries. Minister Fu will host business networking sessions and visit a carbon credits project site.
The agri-food business mission will explore ways to enhance agri-food trade and collaboration with Peru, Paraguay and Chile. Minister Fu will also visit agri-food establishments accredited by the Singapore Food Agency.
Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, National Climate Change Secretariat, Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Food Agency, the National Environment Agency, and business delegates from the Meat Traders’ Association.
