Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on data centres' use of freshwater supply by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.

Questions:

Ms Elysa Chen. To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what percentage of our freshwater supply was used by data centres in the past year; and (b) where such figures are unavailable, whether the Ministry can provide the latest estimates in (i) absolute volume and (ii) proportion to the national freshwater supply.

Answer:

Most of the water supplied to data centres is met through the supply of NEWater instead of freshwater sources.
