Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Hawkers’ Development Programme by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.

Question:

To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what updates can be provided on the review of the Hawkers’ Development Programme (HDP), including when the next intake will commence; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider exploring partnerships with polytechnics and ITEs offering food-related courses as part of the HDP to strengthen the talent pipeline for hawkers.

 Answer:

The National Environment Agency (NEA) is currently reviewing the Hawkers’ Development Programme (HDP) to ensure it remains relevant in supporting aspiring hawkers, and will provide an update on the review when it is complete.
