Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on One Punggol Hawker Centre Tenancy by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.
Question:
Ms He Ting Ru: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment regarding the early termination of Timbre’s tenancy for One Punggol Hawker Centre, (a) what were the reasons for the early termination of tenancy; and (b) whether NEA will consider directly managing the Hawker Centre.
Answer:
Timbre and NEA mutually agreed to terminate Timbre’s tenancy at One Punggol Hawker Centre (OPHC) on 14 August 2026 due to Timbre’s operational challenges. This date would allow NEA sufficient time to appoint a new operator and ensure an orderly transition with minimal disruption to stallholders and patrons.
There are no plans for NEA to directly manage OPHC, which will continue to be a Socially-conscious Enterprise Hawker Centre (SEHC).
