Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Public Perceptions of Wakes and After-death Arrangements by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment
Question:
To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) whether the Ministry has commissioned studies on public perceptions of wakes and after-death arrangements; and (b) if so, whether and when insights will be publicly communicated to encourage conversations and shape community attitudes toward wakes in neighbourhoods.
Answer:
1 My Ministry will study various aspects of after-death practices from time to time. Such studies inform and support policy making and reviews. Currently there is no active study.
