Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Recycled Glass Waste by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment
Question:
To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what is the current recycling rate for glass waste; (b) what percentage of recycled glass waste comprises laminated glass from end-of-life vehicles and construction and demolition waste.
Answer:
1 Glass waste makes up around 1 per cent of total waste generated in 2024, with a recycling rate of 7 per cent. Laminated glass is currently not recycled due to operational constraints and commercial viability.
