Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on unlicensed plumbing works by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.

Question:

Mr Gerald Giam Yean Song: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what is the current manpower strength of enforcement inspectors within PUB tasked with investigating unlicensed plumbing works; (b) in the past year, how many reports of unlicensed plumbing works have been received; and (c) how many enforcement actions have been taken against unlicensed plumbers.

Answer:

PUB has a standing team of enforcement inspectors, and flexibly deploys other officers as necessary to investigate reports of unlicensed plumbing works.

In the past year, PUB detected 47 unlicensed plumbing works. Of these cases, PUB has taken 46 enforcement actions, with one case under investigation.
